Angela Beery

Founder/Creative Director

Angela, the Founder and Creative Director of BElevé Dance Company, is a cherished force in the dance industry with a career that spans over three decades. Her journey began at the age of three and since then, her love for dance has grown exponentially, shaping her life’s mission and purpose.

As a seasoned dancer, Angela has honed her skills in a variety of styles including Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, and Musical Theatre. She was an original company member of the Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company and her performance as Clara in the 1985 Nutcracker remains one of her fondest memories.

After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education and Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln she remained a part of their dance faculty. 

Angela has passionately devoted her life to dance, first as a performer and now as a teacher, choreographer, and mentor, guiding dancers on their own artistic journeys. The joy she takes in seeing her students dance with pride at annual recitals and succeed on the competitive stage is a testament to her commitment to nurturing their talents. Angela’s expansive choreographic body of work has been celebrated and recognized in the industry, earning numerous awards and top overall placements, both regionally and nationally.

Beyond her dance career, Angela is a dedicated wife and proud mother to three wonderful children, Jack, Hudson, and Paxton. With their family’s deep-rooted love for dance, they’ve created lifelong memories together. Angela takes immense pride in watching her children continue her legacy in the dance industry as performers, instructors, and choreographers.

Today, Angela is proud to lead BElevé Dance Company, where her lifelong passion for dance thrives. Here, she instills her years of experience, knowledge, and love for the art form into each dancer, providing them with the tools they need to succeed and become the best they can be. She continues to shape the dance industry, one dancer at a time.

Hudson Beery

BDC Instructor

Hudson Beery has been training in dance for over 16 years and has studied ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and ballroom. She has an overwhelming amount of love for dance as an art, and is eager to share her passion with others. She has been a dedicated competitive dance team member receiving numerous dance titles and overall awards regionally and nationally throughout the last thirteen years.

Hudson has been honored with many opportunities throughout her career as a dancer. She traveled with Adrenaline and Revive Dance Conventions as an ACE intern during the 2022-2023 season, where she was able to assist classes for some of the biggest names in the industry, as well as learn about the ins and outs of how a convention runs. In addition, Hudson had the opportunity to tour with Revel Dance Convention during the 2022-2023 season as a Pro-Reveler. She assisted classes and worked backstage among a kind and talented community. Hudson was awarded National Electro Tap at the NRG National Finals in 2022, which gave her the chance to travel with the company and assist tap classes as the reigning title holder. For the upcoming 2023-2024 season Hudson will be touring with NRG as an NRG Apprentice. 

Hudson was also a part of the Lincoln Southwest Emeralds Dance team for all four years of her high school career and competed alongside some of her best friends, earning multiple state titles and placing in the top 10 at the National Dance Team Championship. She was a part of the leadership team for her junior year as Skills Coordinator, and her senior year as a Co-Captain. Hudson Beery is so grateful for all of the leadership opportunities she has had that have molded her into the leader she is today. 

In addition to Hudson’s dance experience, she was a part of the National Honor Society at Lincoln Southwest High School and graduated in 2023 with the highest honors. Hudson will be attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the fall of 2023, where she plans to major in Biology and minor in Dance as a part of the University’s Honors Program.

Hudson cannot wait to inspire her students, as well as be inspired by others at Beleve Dance Company. 

Macy Behrens

BDC Instructor

Macy began dancing at the age of three and has studied in the styles of ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and tap. She danced competitively for many years before she found her passion for teaching.

Macy was a member of the Universal Dance Association’s staff from 2017-2021 where she traveled across the nation to work with high school and college dance teams. This opportunity included instructing routines, improving team technique and skills, and supplying team and individual-level feedback. Macy has also worked as a judge at competitions throughout Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, and Florida. These opportunities have introduced her to some of the top dancers in the nation, improved her eye for technique and movement execution, and aided her in instructing and communicating with her students in a more informed way. Macy was also selected as one of three dancers across hundreds of UDA and NDA staff to instruct and assist the Varsity Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2019. 

Macy’s love of dance has been fostered by the many opportunities to choreograph routines that excite and inspire her students and encourage them to grow. She is constantly striving to learn new things and incorporate them into her dance style in the hopes of always improving and expanding her abilities. Over the past six years of teaching dancers ranging from age two to the college level, Macy has learned so much about connecting with students to give them their best experience and improve not only their dance knowledge, skills, and technique, but their love for the art form. 

In 2021, Macy graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a double major in Advertising/Public Relations and Graphic Design. Along with teaching at BElevé Dance Company she currently works full time as a Graphic Designer. Macy is grateful for her opportunity to share her love for dance and for the memories she has made with her students! 

Kelsie Bliss

BDC Instructor

Kelsie has been dancing since the age of 2; she has studied jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, and ballet. Kelsie was a part of a competitive team for nine years competing in regional and national competitions where she was awarded scholarships to AMDA, Millennium Dance Complex, and Theatre Arts Preparatory School winning many first overalls and judges choice awards.

In high school, Kelsie was a part of the Apollinaire’s Dance Team at Lincoln East High School she also spent a summer in Florida studying at the Joffrey Ballet intensive. After High School Kelsie studied for six months in Las Vegas, NV at Theatre Arts Preparatory School where she learned many new styles including, ballroom, heels, musical theatre, aerial work, and took acting and singing lessons. While in Las Vegas Kelsie taught tap and jazz at The Rock Center for Dance.

During the summer of 2018, Kelsie was honored to be selected for her first professional opportunity as a performer in Vertical Impact which took place at Cedar Point Theme Park in Sandusky, OH. As one of 8 dancers in the act, she performed in four shows a day, six days a week. Kelsie loves working with her students at BElevé Dance Company and is excited to be a part of the teaching staff at BDC. Kelsie attends The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she was a previous member of the Husker Scarlets Dance Team.

Paige Brophy

BDC Instructor and Brand Manager

Paige has been dancing since the age of three and has been loving it ever since. She has studied a variety of styles including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip-hop. Throughout her time as a competitive dancer, she scored numerous regional and national first-place awards with her solos, duos/trios, and group dances. She has also held many leadership roles as a main character in ballet and production performances.

Some of her biggest accomplishments as a dancer have been winning a $60,000 scholarship to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), earning many title awards including Miss Star Power and Miss Dance, and being nominated as a finalist at the Industry Dance Awards. She also had the opportunity to travel with Revel Dance Competition as a Pro-Reveler faculty assistant.

After graduating high school, Paige continued her passion through teaching and choreographing. She has also worked as a judge at Just for Kix Competitions and dance team tryouts in the Lincoln area. Overall, these experiences have allowed Paige to develop professional relationships with students which is what drives her passion for teaching.

Currently, Paige is a senior majoring in advertising and public relations at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she has had many opportunities to lead teams and work hands-on in the industry. She is excited to continue sharing her knowledge and passion for dance with young and aspiring artists. 

Hunter Long

BDC Instructor

Hunter began dancing at the age of two in Southern California. She has studied ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, tap, and hip-hop. Since beginning her dance journey, she has danced competitively for seven years where she has been a part of many award-winning solos, duo/trios, and group routines at the regional and national levels.


Since moving to Nebraska in 2014, Hunter has graduated from Lincoln East High School and is continuing her education at Nebraska Wesleyan University where she is majoring in Health and Fitness Studies with a minor in Psychology. She is continuing her dance career as a member of the Gold Rush Dance Team where she has been a part of the award-winning competitive team and has been a part of the American Rivers All Honors Dance Team.


Hunter has also choreographed a state-winning routine for a local high school, judged a local competition at the high school level, and instructed a week-long dance camp. Hunter is so excited to share her love and passion for dance with the incredible students and work alongside the dedicated staff at BElevé.

Sarah Mathis

BDC Instructor

Sarah began her dance training when she was three years old. She has studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, and modern dance. Sarah was a competitive dancer for seven years where she was part of many award-winning duo/trio and group performances at the regional and national level. In high school, Sarah was a captain of the Lincoln Northeast Star Strutters Dance Team for her junior and senior years where she was recognized as an All-American Dancer for three years at NDA dance camp. Her team also competed in many state dance team competitions. Sarah has also choreographed a top three High school state dance routine.

Sarah is continuing her education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she is majoring in Human Development and Family Science, along with a minor in Dance and Psychology.  Sarah is so grateful and excited to be able to work with the incredibly dedicated students and staff and to continue spreading her love for dance! 

Lucinda (Lucy) Schwartz

BDC Instructor and Videographer

Lucy Schwartz is from Lincoln, Nebraska. She has been dancing since the age of two and she graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School, where she was a Lincoln Southeast Shirette. She grew up as a versatile dancer and was a member of her studio’s competitive company. Lucy attended many dance conventions and competitions through the years. She received a $20,000 scholarship to AMDA (The American Musical and Dramatic Academy) at Adrenaline Dance Convention in Denver during her junior year of high school. 

After graduating in 2018, she decided to further her education at AMDA College of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles, California where she had the honor of learning from numerous professionals in the dance industry. In June 2021, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Theatre at just 20 years old. She has since had the privilege of being a 3-time Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleader finalist and performing as a part of the field cast in the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show. Lucy recently started her teaching career and has loved helping her students grow in their dance journeys.

Maureen White

Administrative Director

Maureen has 20 years of dance experience from age 2 through adult. She was a member and captain of the Lincoln Northstar High School Dazzlers Dance Team as well as a competitive dance team member. She attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln graduating in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Family Science minoring in Education, Psychology, and Sociology. Maureen has great knowledge of the dance world both recreational and competitive.
